On April 14, the 2023 China Auto Digital Intellectualization Conference with the theme of “creating a win-win situation through intelligent innovation and transformation” was held grandly in Huadu District, Guangzhou. Government and enterprises join hands for a future of automotive digital intellectualization
With the application of new technologies like AI and big data, the Chinese automotive industry is undergoing profound changes indigital intellectualization. Nevertheless, the development and application of new technologies in automotive digital intellectualization require joint efforts across the entire industry value chain. The theme of the conference was“creating a win-win situation through intelligent innovation and transformation” in order to gain momentum for the continual innovation and transformation of the automotive industry and strive for a win-win situation for upstream and downstream partners of the industry by empowering the annual conference as a platform and focusing on automotive digital intellectualization.

It has formed an automotive industry system led by the carmaker Dongfeng Nissan and gathering over 150 automobile parts manufacturers (41 of which are Fortune 500 enterprises or their affiliated enterprises), and the output value of automotive manufacturing in Huadu accounts for nearly one-third of that of Guangzhou City.
In the future, Huadu will seize the strategic opportunity of “lane changing and overtaking” ofthe global automotive industry to focus on intelligent connected and new energy vehicles, apply for a state-level economic development zone with an additional area of 100 square kilometers planned for the automotive industry, and make all efforts to build the largest intelligent new energy vehicle industry base of China with vehicles being the lead, parts being the focus, and technological innovation being the support.
Experts' professional insights into automotive digital intellectualization
At the conference, exchanges and discussions were made around the hot topics of “empowerment, innovation, and win-win results” in the entire value chain of automotive digital intellectualization. Shen Changxiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Shan Zhiguang, Head of the Informatization and Industrial Development Department of the State Information Center, Zhu Xichan, professor of the School of Automotive Studies, Tongji University, and other industry big names shared cutting-edge insights.
Shen Changxiang elaborated on the significance of IoV security, and put forward constructive suggestions for creating safe and reliable products and services with the theme of “driving the high-quality and healthy development of the IoV with safe and reliable products and services”.
Shan Zhiguang analyzed the “Twenty Provisions on Data” in detail and the priorities of application to the digital transformation of the automotive industry with the theme “Twenty Provisions on Data and the digital transformation of the automotive industry”.
Zhu Xichan delved into how to fully utilize user data to carry out the innovative development of new energy vehicles with the theme of the “closed user data loop as the core of intelligent new energy vehicle innovation”.
Hu Yongli analyzed the three core challenges to be addressed in the transformation of automotive digital intellectualization under the title of “forging ahead inspite of difficulties to meet new challenges in automotive digital intellectualization”. The first is to build the “brain” for change, seize the top-level design, and avoid the “pilot trap” arising during transformation; the second is to build the “skeleton” for change and fully plan the enterprise architecture supporting business change; the third is to build the“bloodstream” for change and fully “awaken” vast data assets in a “dormantstate”.
Wang Jian, CIO of Geely Holding Group, Hu Linhai, Digital Manufacturing Officer of Changan Automobile, and Ding Guoxiang, Chief Expert of Huawei BG Manufacturing Group, shared their thoughts and practical experience on automotive digital intellectualization from the perspectives of carmakers and ICT manufacturer srespectively.
The conference held a “Super Roundtable” on the opportunities and challenges in the“evolution” of automotive digital intellectualization. Shi Kai, Vice Chairman of the Digital Industry Innovation Research Center and the author of Lean Data Methodology hosted the Roundtable. At the conference, the Excellent Case Award for the First China Automotive Digital Intellectualization and Innovation Awards was presented. The award was jointly initiated by the Digital Industry Innovation Research Center, JNexper, CDO Joint International well-known consulting agencies, as well as over 20 CIO organizations and industry associations nationwide, with the strategic support of Lanyou Technology.
