Accounting for 8.56%, the Lanyou Technology T-Box ranked first in market share. On May 16, 2022, Gaogong Intelligent Automobile released the rankings of first-tier suppliers in terms of pre-installed (homemade) onboard wireless terminals (T-boxes) on passenger vehicles in the Chinese market in 2021 based on the insurance database for new vehicles in the domestic market and new model announcement database of Gaogong Intelligent Automobile Research Institute. The Lanyou Technology T-Box ranked first in China in terms of market share in this category for two consecutive years.

Champion quality and champion box

As a Chinese top-tier supplier of pre-installed onboard wireless terminals, Lanyou Technology put China’s first CAT4 automotive grade T-Box into mass production, which was the fastest of its kind to reach a mass production volume of 1 million in China, with an average annual output of nearly 1 million in the past two years and a cumulative output of over 3.4 million to date.

The champion box is based on champion quality.

On September 2, 2021, the 2021 Nissan China Regional Supplier Quality Award (hereinafter referred to as “RQA”) was conferred to Lanyou Technology, which ranked first in the electric equipment category for the high quality, stability and punctual delivery of the T-Box after defeating a number of excellent international and domestic rivals.

The RQA is held annually and consists of global and regional awards. The China award has 6 winners per annum, which are from the six categories of bodywork, chassis, electric equipment, power train, interior and exterior, and general parts. This year’s RQA had 922 candidates, and those ranking first in these categories won this special honor after several rounds of screening.

Accelerating the 5G age for the future

With the constant evolution of intelligent driving, the vision described by intelligent transportation is becoming clearer. Smart vehicles and roads are imposing increasingly higher requirements on communication capacity whether in onboard computation or vehicle-road synergy. The powerful basic network is used to meet such needs as in-vehicle entertainment functions with high-transmission rate, and the collection and analysis of massive sensor data, which is to be supported by the features of wide bandwidth, low latency and high stability of 5G.

Gaogong Intelligent Automobile says that integrating such functions as V2X and GNSS high-precision positioning into the conventional T-box module has also become an important trend. This is also one of the directions of the subsequent reshaping of market segments.

The Lanyou Technology 5G C-V2X T-Box integrates 5G, C-V2X and centimeter-grade high-precision positioning based on 5G high bandwidth, supports the 5G only and 5G+V2X modes, and over 25 C+V2X application scenarios through cooperation with a number of platforms, including Huawei, Qualcomm, MTK, and Unisoc. Currently, customers served by the Lanyou Technology 5G T-Box include Dongfeng Nissan, Venucia, Voyah, Dongfeng Fengshen (AEOLUS), etc.

As 5G brings a new round of growth opportunities for T-boxes and raises the technical and market thresholds considerably, the “tangled warfare” situation of the T-box market may be replaced with a centralized competition landscape. Leading enterprises like Lanyou Technology will probably further establish their competitive advantages.

Lanyou Technology has been working on vehicle digitalization and intelligence and is thus strengthening the R&D of intelligent cockpits, FAPA parking, L2/L3 domain controllers, and L4 autonomous driving cloud control platforms. To date, Lanyou Technology has become a designated supplier for some models, and some projects have been launched.
